Sorry, relex109: Portsmouth Arms, like Berney Arms, doesn't count - "It serves a number of rural villages, and was named after a pub" isn't the same as "the only station in England built specifically to serve a pub." :P Yes, smokey: I do seem to get into trouble (but usually when I'm travelling with off-duty staff ... ) ::) And finally: Many thanks for the link to that youtube film clip, amiddl! :D Looking at the very end of the clip, with the railbus hammering back through Trouble House Halt towards Tetbury, I spotted my 'souvenir' - it's actually the rather ornate top of one of those telegraph poles, complete with all the original metal fixings! Quote Tetbury Rail Lands Regeneration Trust appeals to refurb Goods Shed Tetbury Rail Lands Regeneration Trust is launching an appeal to raise ^12,500 to make the Goods Shed weatherproof. The trust and Tetbury Town Council have raised ^3,420 so far which has been spent on patching the slate roof and replacing the rainwater down pipes. The scheme has been in the pipeline for more than 30 years and the trust is now looking at repairing and painting the existing wooden door, sand blasting and painting the windows, re-glazing the half window above the door, sand blasting the interior brick work to remove fire damage and graffiti and repairing the roof on the lower building. Chairman of the trust and Tetbury town councillor Stephen Hirst said it was really important to carry out this work to preserve the building. "Working with a local builder we have been encouraged by our achievements to date and we want to go further," he added. Once the first ^12,500 has been raised, the trust plans to install toilet facilities and a power supply so that the community can start to use the building. To launch the latest appeal, on Saturday, October 16, between 10am and 1pm the trust is planning a railway memorabilia event to reflect the past uses of the Goods Shed and its parkland setting. One of the unique attractions of the day will be a screening of the film taken of the 'Tetbury Flyer'- on its last journey in 1963. The Goods Shed will be open and people are invited to come along to share their personal memorabilia of Tetbury^s railway past and to join in with the campaign.
