From the Wokingham Times (http://www.getwokingham.co.uk/news/s/2081084_train_delays_after_car_hits_bridge):

Quote
Rail commuters wanting to travel between Wokingham and Reading are facing delays after a car struck a bridge in Emmbrook.

The lines serving the town towns were temporarily suspended at around 10am after engineers carrying out routine inspections discovered the railway bridge in Emmbrook Road had previously been struck by a car but the incident was never reported.

The line was closed so structural engineers from Network Rail could examine the bridge and ensure it was safe for trains to travel on.

It is not known when the bridge was struck.

Buses are currently transporting passengers between Reading and Wokingham, also calling at stations in Earley, Winnersh Triangle and Winnersh.

However, the lines were re-opened just before midday and some services are beginning to resume. Some trains are expected to be delayed by up to one hour.

Spokeswomen for both South West Trains and First Great Western, which run services between the two stations, said normal services are expected from 1pm.
