Title: CIS Fault at Taplow - 23 Mar 11
Post by: bobm on March 23, 2011, 20:39:24
At least I hope it was a fault!  I was at Taplow for 20 mins this afternoon and the whole time I was there the CIS was repeating the "don't leave your bags unattended" announcement. The male voice on platform 3 and the female on platform 4. As soon as it finished it started again. It actually made the 20 mins seem a lot longer.

I also could not help but notice there was a slight change in the announcement compared to the one I've heard before in that it includes a warning that items may be damaged by the security services as well as the usual "destroyed".

The announcement was at least stopped to announce train arrivals although the warning to stand clear of the edge of platform 2 because of an approaching HST was heard on three occasions as the red tail lights disappeared into the distance.

Automated annoucements are all very well but they need to be accurate and relevant.
