Title: 04 October - anniversary of the inaugural HST service
Post by: Phil on October 04, 2011, 12:39:48
I didn't think such an auspicious day as this should go completely unremarked, so here's a link to a short feature on the first HST service from London to Bristol in 1976

It caught my first HST the following January from Didcot Parkway to London Paddington.  The things I remember most are having a cheeseburger from the buffet car and the timetable folded the same way as today's pocket timetables but on non glossy paper.
