Are you planning on 'bumping' into any FGW managers at Bristol Temple Meads tomorrow Chris?  :D

I think he is. I'd've liked to pop along also, but I'm babysitting.  :(

Cough, splutter!  :P

Yes, I'll be there: would anyone like me to bring up any particular issues, on your behalf - if you're unable to join us?

Bristol Temple Meads booking office and it's random opening hours (or rather, randomly closed hours). It's always 'staff shortages' I'm told. And the decision to not open on Saturdays? A day when many less used to using the rail network are travelling or making plans to travel. The knock on effect of the random opening hours and no Saturday provision can be very lengthy queues at the the ticket windows, where the signs all say 'Tickets for Today'. So is this a conscious decision to put people off queueing to buy an Advance Purchase, railcard etc.

Saturday morning is now a time to avoid Bristol Temple Meads booking hall if you don't already have a ticket.

Well, you did ask.  :P

Okay then. On behalf of myself and some other forum members:

Why the withdrawal of Plymouth Gin from the buffets?  ;D

That would have been my question a fortnight ago - now superseded by the withdrawl of ALL spirit miniatures and their replacement by three varieties of ready mixed drinks in cans - G&T, vodak and cola and scotch and cola.  Not much use if you don't like slimline tonic or prefer whisky and dry ginger ale.

Well, with apologies to those who raised issues for that meeting ... I wasn't able to get there, unfortunately.  ::)

What with the disruption caused by the derailment at Westbury, and cows wandering about on the line in South Wales, my arrangements were so messed up yesterday that I missed the meeting at BRI.

However, I do have contacts with some usefully senior people in FGW, so I'll contact them by e-mail with these queries, and post any answers here in due course, if that's alright?

CfN.  ???
