Ouch. Up here it’s raining a lot but I wouldn’t think that anything of significance is going on..

Carmarthen’s not expected to run for most/all of the day.
Liskard-Looe cancelled throughout on JourneyCheck.

Tree on the line earlier so a Penzance service is running 110 minutes behind schedule and is also carrying CrossCountry passengers. It’s fine in my neck of the woods but I’m surprised the leaves on the track excuse has not been used yet.

Even GWR (Great Western Railway) are telling people not to bring the IET (Intercity Express Train) with you  Cheesy

Rumour has it that a fully fitted kitchen will be on boards providing pullman services.

Clearly aimed at causing maximum disruption during the Autumn internationals at Twickenham. I suspect SWR» (South Western Railway - about) were expecting it so have plenty of times to make contingency arrangements. The RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) continuing the tactic of striking to disrupt the leisure market picking half term week for their 5 dayer.

I'd be genuinely interested in the contingency arrangements that are capable of shifting (the bulk of) 82,000 people to & from Twickenham.

"This train is formed of 1242 coaches"

Passengers for Twickenham should request to the conductor on the train to alight here.

The first ScotRail HST (High Speed Train) in passenger service is scheduled to be the 0907 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh on Monday 15th October 2018.

364 days after the IET (Intercity Express Train), maybe they were feeling unlucky. Smiley

Day 6 saw me heading south on the Chieftain, enjoying a nice cooked breakfast.  I alighted at Newcastle to use the TPE (Trans Pennine Express) service heading to Manchester Airport and using the new curve at Manchester.  I alighted at Piccadilly, heading south to Euston.  Departure from Paddington was on the 1857 Plymouth service formed of 2 x 5 car IETs (Intercity Express Train).  I was told that this was the first trial of a Pullman service to the WoE using these trains.  I just made my connection at Westbury (described elsewhere!)  Other than at the very end an uneventful day, although it was a new experience to travel through Melksham on an IET.  Just 1 day to go.

I thought Melksham International was considered for HS3  Wink

GWR (Great Western Railway) must be treating their staff because no Cheltenham services are cancelled just yet. A very well done to GWR to be able to provide what there purpose is to do!
204  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Re: Four track for Filton Bank - ongoing discussion on: October 07, 2018, 08:38:42
By the end of March, all HSTs (High Speed Train) will be gone. So working it out you’d have waiting for the new timetable 1 or 2 from the Cheltenham Rotation, 4 from the Parkways, and all of the rest of the IETs (Intercity Express Train) not working to full ability.
205  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Re: Four track for Filton Bank - ongoing discussion on: October 06, 2018, 23:13:29
With the lack of details about new rail schedules, for December, is it known when the extra trains from Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington , via Bristol Parkway, will run?

It is great,   Cheesy, to have all this investment at Bristol Parkway, Filton Abbeywood and Filton Bank, but the lack of coordination and clarity of delivery leaves me, and others, unsure when things will actually get better and justify all this hassle.

All those five car IETs (Intercity Express Train) sat doing nothing waiting to work the Parkway Bristol’s... any long forms expected  Wink
206  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Re: Another Bristol Parkway Closure - for three weeks on: October 06, 2018, 18:03:00
Off to Cardiff tomorrow, going to do a change at Parkway for Cardiff to see the electrification progress. Only have a nine minute slot so if I’m delayed then there may be issue but other than that all should be fine.
207  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Great Western Railway: on-board catering, buffets, Travelling Chef, Pullman - ongoing discussion on: October 06, 2018, 13:11:39
Also apparently there are plans to operate two trolleys on the nine cars.

Was not two trolleys originally a promise ?
Which then became a future aspiration.
And if eventually sometimes achieved will no doubt be touted as a great step forward !

Well, GWR (Great Western Railway) aren’t the best at keeping promises.

Facilities on the 05:17 Gloucester to Southampton Central due 08:09.
This is due to a fault on this train.
Will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.

No problem ... until Warminster after which it will be getting a bit cosey!

Was busy down my end as well, we need these five car 800s urgently!

five cars are painted on the 802, that’s the only different I know.

There was a thread back time ago about this.
