From my observations I am not sure Menheniot Platform1 needs a shelter. Nearly all passenger traffic is Plymouth commuters, and when they arrive back there is invariably someone in a car waiting to wisk them away!. I cant recall ever seeing a person travelling from Menheniot westwards!

True in places, but not universally. The St Ives branch views of the sea are largely unencumbered by vegetation, similarly the spectacular bit of the Looe branch from Sandplace down to the sea. I'm not sure I would say there is much to see by comparison on the Falmouth or Newquay branches, vegetated or not - inland Cornwall is nice but not knock-out in my humble Cornish opinion.

Its a lot quicker to run the bus from St Austell to Newquay than from Par and it gives better onward connections on to the mainline. I also suspect most local travellers go on to St Austell anyway as there is hardly much to detain them in Par! ( with apologies to Parisians).
