Thanks, Hafren and eightf48544, for your very helpful replies to that question. As a matter of interest, is there any formal process for train staff to raise such concerns / issues with signal staff, with a view to resolving them by getting things changed, if necessary?
Yes, I did wonder whether that might turn out to be rather a silly question, when I posted it!

I saw this on their website last night. Why does it need to be on here?
Well, at least partly because, once the train(s) involved have reached their destinations, and/or overnight, that information is deleted from FGW▸ 's website. At least here in the forum, the information is preserved for future reference, in threads such as this. One may ask the same question of you repeating the whole of the previous post Thanks, SDA, for making a very good point: please, may I ask that members do not 'quote' the whole of a previous post, if they are only replying to one particular point in it? Thanks!

I agree, they'd be better than nothing on the Portishead line (!), but at just 25 seats each, you'd need a fair few of them to deal with commuter traffic - and yes, they'd just get clogged up in the existing road traffic mayhem between BTM▸ and the city centre, for example. Melksham, though, possibly, grahame?
