The whole station is being re-wired. Offices will be temporarily relocated in turn while the works take place. The first area being tackled is the ticket office and offices above. A temporary ticket office will be situated in Bonaparte's.

As an aside, why is the explanation for "XC^▸ (Cross Country Trains (franchise))" styled as "(Cross Country franchise trains (now run by Arriva))"? Why not simply "(CrossCountry Trains)" seeing as that's their name? "Cross Country franchise trains" is pretty poor grammar. Also "now run by Arriva" implies this is a new development. Arriva have run the franchise since 2007. So why the "now"?! It bugs me every time I see it.

I think this speculation of a new standard livery is off the mark. I think we are more likely to see individual TOCs^▸ (Train Operating Company) retaining their own identities, with the addition of the new GBR^▸ (Great British Railways) logo (whatever that might look like), tucked away somewhere discretely. Much like how the GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) livery has ‘a FirstGroup company’ and CrossCountry has ‘by Arriva’ in fairly small lettering, I think we’ll simply see ‘part of Great British Railways’ added to the corner of existing liveries. If all the trains and uniforms were branded the same how would anyone know who to complain to?!

It's actually a combination of the two - there are quite a few new 'cheese grater' benches too. I don't know why it's taken them so long to install these new benches - the wooden ones have been stacked up in the service tunnel for years. They've also put notices on the new benches, announcing the fact that they've installed new benches. Well yes, we can see that!
