What a great picture  Cheesy

Semaphores, signalbox, carflats, cars and 6-cars worth of Swindon Cross-Country DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) heading to Cardiff.  A Birmingham (Snow Hill) to Cardiff General via Honeybourne service, I'd like to think.

Made my morning much more cheerful, to see this

That service would have been routed via Chepstow.

Unless the law has changed very recently it is an offence to use an escooter on a public highway.  The same applies to ebicycles that can't also be propelled by pedals.  Both are classed as motor vehicles but there are, as yet, no regulations to cover such matters as tax and insurance. Whilst the police may turn a blind eye to their use on the main carriageway, serious problems could arise if they were used on a footway or footpath,  Also road traffic laws apply.  Some may remember the go-ped drink driving case some years back when the appeal court decided that the go-ped was a motor vehicle in law(self propelled) and the rider picked up a hefty fine and ban for being over the limit.

Similar experience with South Western Railway (SWR» (South Western Railway - about)) on a disrupted journey to Waterloo.  Money was in my account 7 days later. Journey 15th November, money in account 22nd November.

Unless there have been very recent changes, there is no facility to reverse at Pinhoe without entering the single line.  I don't know how the signalling is configured as this is the interface between Exmouth Junction box and Basingstoke RSC, but reversal might be possible if the Waterloo services are east of Honiton.

I loved the comment of the lady interviewed at the end.

Different union. ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) does not need a guard.  Interesting that RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) are seeking new talks. Could mean that the members are not fully in support or they are worried that the length of the strike means that they would run out of money before the end

A note of caution regarding the new national timetable. There are a number of errors present and able 17 is missing.  Table 17 will be added and a number of other tables updated early in the new year
434  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Trainline rail ticket firm in ^500m stock market flotation on: December 01, 2019, 21:42:04
Why create a new company.  The existing TOCs (Train Operating Company) offer a service equal to Trainline without fees
435  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Re: Insufficient capacity - Oldfield Park and Keynsham on: November 30, 2019, 13:11:25
The 0826 service was running about 30 mins late and following the 0850 which would not have helped the crowding on the latter service.
