16  Sideshoots - associated subjects / Heritage railway lines, Railtours, other rail based attractions / Re: famous passenger visits Avon Valley railway on: April 09, 2024, 09:22:54
Why not just tell us who it was so we can make an informed judgement as to whether to click on an ad-filled local newspaper link?

Edit: There also appears to already be a thread on the Avon Valley Railway?

I do - well, over the illegal ones.

The riders/owners are fully aware that they don't meet regulations yet they take the risk. No one else should be affected by a failure.
19  All across the Great Western territory / Diary - what's happening when? / Re: Is any one attending the TWSW(friday)? on: April 08, 2024, 18:05:50
There doesn't appear to be any (accessible) transport being laid on from the station this time around & it's a 1.1 mile walk (if one is able-bodied)
Neither has any invite been emailed around?

Edit: Email invite now arrived, thanks!
Contact the secretary if you need accessible last mile transport....

Today's industrial actiion has seen the cancellation of: (according to GW (Great Western) JourneyCheck)

1W45 2251 Paddington to Worcester Parkway

That's the last train - I wonder how they will get people home that roll up for it?
23  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Lostwithiel footbridge on: April 03, 2024, 17:33:14
I doubt it. Level access will still be available over the level crossing. Possibly not on the permanent bridge that follows it too.
24  Journey by Journey / South Western services / Re: Major disruption, Basingstoke, 3rd April 2024 on: April 03, 2024, 14:53:03
They're not, neither are they accessible by vehicles, which may be a further problem.

What would be is if one of the major parties were to include road pricing in their manifesto....unfortunately, an instand vote loser, I feel.

The music is recorded, thus they need a PPL licence. PRS is for music played live.

If you've ever tried those rickshaws, your comments would be very similar plus on a distance basis, far dearer even than GWR (Great Western Railway)!!
