You missed my point Graham.
Do check back to the quoted post & you'll find that this wasn't said at all. And that is what I am encouraging you to ban. If one quotes, it needs to quote exactly, if not in full, in part. no changing the quote.

I think it’s right to be slightly suspicious of Hitachi Rail.

Quote fixed for you Grin Grin

this is what II *actually said
I think it’s right to be slightly suspicious of any survey on transport that has been commissioned by a group with particular interests in one part of that sector, as it is with Hitachi Rail in this case.

On a point of order....no one should be amending a quote unless it's one from something that member posted.
Otherwise mayhem could easily break out by someone completely misquoting someone else & potentially libelling a third party. Sorry, but a quote should always be a quote & that ought to be policy.

It was a ceremony(al) blessing - GWR (Great Western Railway) tweeted that they had got wed earlier in the week (Wednesday I think)

I did get a lengthy questionnaire handed out on a Heart of Wessex service ca 1.5 months ago. It did appear to be GWR (Great Western Railway) specific only so I am unsure if this is relevant to Transport Focus. I would also doubt the data has been processed so quickly.

GWR do their own too, so if it was GWR-centric, it was probably theirs

Add to this list the Gravesend to Tilbury Foot & cycle ferry across the Thames. Last service March 31st. Thurrock Council pulled their support & Kent couldn't afford it on their own.

39  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Permit scheme plan after 'unwelcome parking' near rail station (Hanborough) on: March 08, 2024, 21:32:09
From Oxford Mail via MSN

Quote
A permit scheme could soon be introduced near a railway station after villagers have hit out over "continued unwelcome parking" on their doorsteps.

Oxfordshire County Council has opened the consultation for Long Hanborough near Witney on a potential new system for the village's main road.

This comes as some residents said they had been impacted by the existing no waiting restrictions between 11am and noon, Monday to Friday.

These had been put in place "discourage long term commuter parking for the nearby Long Hanborough Rail Station".

County councillor Liam Walker, of the Hanborough and Minster Lovell division, said: "I’m pleased the county council have been able to bring this proposal forward after years of residents battling with commuters parking outside the houses along this section of road.

"As with all these schemes enforcement is key but hopefully this new scheme will also prevent residents from getting parking tickets.

"Whilst it’s great that Hanborough station is so popular we urgently need more car parking capacity which I continue to push GWR (Great Western Railway) and the county council to fix as we have nearby land secured for the car park expansion.”

Plans would result in permits limited to one per resident with a maximum of two per property.

Permits would also be available for contractors carrying out works on properties and for registered carers and healthcare workers.

Parish councillor Rich Fuller said: "There broadly isn't a problem with parking in Long Hanborough.

"Towards the station end of the village there are potentially some problems with overflow, however."

Consultation responses are to be reviewed after the 5pm deadline on Friday, March 29 and more information can be found on the county council website.

GWR (Great Western Railway) confirm that the services to which this thread refers are *not* stopping at Didcot & are all using the west curve. In both directions.

Being run with a 5car IET (Intercity Express Train) GWR said yesterday.

Hmmm.
Anyone seen these questionnaires being handed out at stations since the pandemic? I thought not.
UI think they need to advertise their new methodology for ensuring randomness...

Ahhhh, Window Seater app. I think there's already a thread from when it was under development along the Cotswold Line?

You can listen to all 30 on the link above without waiting for the app to use your location services.

I have suggested to a couple of operators Accessible Passenger Groups that an "Introduction to Disabled Travel on our Trains" document be formulated and made available across the various outlets already available in various formats.

Everyone who is disabled is newly disabled at some stage.....

XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) are also very good at listing all changes on their Journeycheck page - but expect the customer to do the checking of it.
