One and All

For information, NR» (Network Rail - home page) have submitted Pre application information, to Cornwall Council's planning department.

https://planning.cornwall.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=R0VDCLFG0IS00

If the link doesn't work then the application number is PA21/02763/PREAPP which can be typed into the Cornwall Council Planning Website.

Information includes, plan, proposed design etc.
17  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Journey times on: November 26, 2021, 17:02:05
Evening all.

Disappointed yet again, but not surprised that the wider South West has little mention in yet another report on the future of rail, and started a hunt for some statistics on Journey times between various key stations nationwide to say London to start with,  perhaps over distance, so i can compare the service disparities between places in the South West, and others in the fabled North.

Does anyone have any pointers please?

The photo is decidedly not anywhere in Gloucestershire.....

An Intercity route with new shorter trains you say? - Why have you not mentioned this before?...

Quite a rare 78 that...  Shame

'Drekley Limited' anyone?
21  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Named Trains on: September 24, 2021, 14:06:49
The only named train shown in the December 2019 D timetable is the Night Riviera.

Another step towards mediocrity. Train length, comfort and facilities are in my view of greater importance than names, but this is still a small backward step.

Still, the occasion seems to have passed un noticed for a long time, even by an informed community such as ours...........

Mpower Kernow CIC (Community Interest Company ) is delighted to finally be able to go public with our exciting plans for the turntable, and an associated workshop at St Blazey.  Our first press release went to Trackside Magazine, with the remainder of the rail press and wider media briefed this week.

https://tracksidemag.imbmsubscriptions.com/current-issue/]https://tracksidemag.imbmsubscriptions.com/current-issue/

Not going to publish the press release yet, as I figure it is important that the media gets a chance to sell magazines, but as one of the directors of this project, I am happy to answer any questions.

Cheers all.
25  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Best Split ticket site ? on: April 27, 2021, 20:46:53
With the easing of lockdown, I have just started looking to book a Thurs or Friday departure from Lostwithiel to Stoke on Trent, returning on the Sunday.  Wondering in our collective opinion if there is a split ticketing website of choice or preference please.  Advance travel, over a month away.

Cheers all !
