Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2021 Delays and Cancellations

The signalling problems between Didcot Parkway and Swindon/Oxford have been reported elsewhere but the impact on Cotswold Line services has been significant. In terms of services to the Cotswolds: 1W25 1250 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street This service was cancelled due to a signalling systems failure (IF).
13:50 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 16:13 has been cancelled. This is due to a fault with the signalling system.
14:50 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 17:12 has been cancelled. This is due to a fault with the signalling system. And whilst not on JourneyCheck yet, National Rail Enquiries is showing the following 15:20 Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street as being cancelled too. A number of return runs to London beginning to show up as cancellations too. No suggestions of any alternative arrangements in place.

Today was my first visit to my work place since March last year. It actually felt remarkably normal: the cycle to my local station, the walk from my destination to the office, the office systems and everything. Even my train journeys seemed very normal: the morning service was over ten minutes late waiting for a delayed service to clear the single track between Wolvercote and Charlbury and my lunchtime train home: 11:50 London Paddington to Hereford due 14:41 was terminated at Oxford. It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-In-Marsh, Evesham, Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link, Great Malvern, Colwall, Ledbury and Hereford. This is due to a fault on this train. with the return 15:18 HFD» : PAD» cancelled. edit to remove errant comma

It's warm but not excessively so. However: Alterations to services between Charlbury and Evesham Due to a speed restriction because of high track temperatures between Charlbury and Evesham trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines. Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. There's been delays throughout the day and similarly yesterday, some in excess of twenty minutes. That said, I've no idea how many are actually been affected. I've been working from home for fifteen months now.

I’m sure there were trains in the past that would stop at Reading to pick up but unadvertised from London.
Veering wildly off topic here, wasn't there one such service (to Swansea?) a few years ago that was crush-loaded so the decision was taken to run it non-stop to Swindon leaving the Reading passengers who had boarded at Paddington to double back to their destination?

Clearly this thread isn't really active now but three evening peak cancellations in a row is worth mentioning: 17:03 Didcot Parkway to Moreton-In-Marsh due 18:09 will be cancelled. This is due to a fault on this train.
16:58 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:24 will be cancelled. This is due to a shortage of train crew.
17:34 London Paddington to Hereford due 20:25 will be cancelled. This is due to a shortage of train crew.

I've not been near the trains since March so no idea how many are actually being disrupted but there's a few things going on (or not) this afternoon: 13:18 Hereford to London Paddington due 16:24 will be diverted between Worcester Shrub Hill and Reading. It will no longer call at Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough and Oxford. It has been previously delayed, will be further delayed at Reading and is expected to be 40 minutes late. This is due to a points failure.
14:50 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 17:12 was terminated at Moreton-In-Marsh. It will no longer call at Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore, Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcester Foregate Street. It has been delayed at Slough and is now 5 minutes late. This is due to a fault on this train.
15:18 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 17:24 has been cancelled. This is due to a points failure.
16:30 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 19:28 will be started from Oxford. It will no longer call at Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Hanborough. This is due to a points failure.
17:57 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 20:24 will be cancelled. This is due to a fault on this train.

Cancellations to services at Worcester Shrub Hill
Following a points failure at Worcester Shrub Hill the line will be reopened shortly.
Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Last Updated:11/03/2020 21:43 18:58 Paddington to Hereford service has been static at Evesham for over an hour with the 18:50 Paddington to Hereford service stuck behind at Moreton-in-Marsh, whilst the 19:46 Great Malvern to Paddington service appears to have been stationary for almost two hours.

11:55 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 14:24 was terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill. It will no longer call at Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough, Oxford, Reading, Slough and London Paddington. This is due to a shortage of train crew. Last Updated:06/03/2020 12:31 with GWR▸ 's Twitter team advising: ...it's scheduled to form the 14:50 out of Paddington back to Worcester so it may have an impact if we can't find an alternative train
