2101  All across the Great Western territory / Your rights and redress / Re: Season ticket discounts on: December 21, 2007, 13:52:27
The first month will be normal price, renewals, if done within 28 days of expiry date of previous season will be subject to passenger charter discounts should they apply at the time.
2102  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: Christmas Exodus - Busy Trains on: December 21, 2007, 11:13:51
From what I have heard boarding controls will be in place today.
2103  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Railcard Price Increase on: December 20, 2007, 20:54:00
Thing is, if any student wants one, they tend to go with natwest for a student account (So its free for 5 years) so the change really wont have that much effect...

Wrong, the amount of railcards done especially in the London area is a great deal. Especially Young Persons.
2104  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Railcard Price Increase on: December 20, 2007, 12:51:09
Network Railcard is as you say for the Network South East only.
2105  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: That MTLS lot are at it again on: December 17, 2007, 13:30:33
"There are ways around this without us touching them. We have absolutely no inention of doing anything illegal."

So fare evasion isn't illegal anymore? Wow, I'm really not up to date anymore.
2106  All across the Great Western territory / Introductions and chat / Re: Hello from not FGW land, but close enough.... on: December 13, 2007, 18:52:17
Just for the rolling stock page, first class on the 458's are either end of the train in little compartments.

As far as I'm aware the restriction hasn't actually changed for your chosen route. However I will take a look when I get into work tomorrow morning.
2108  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Why can you not get replacements for weekly season tickets on: December 11, 2007, 20:00:13
Also a record is not kept for weekly tickets whereas there is for monthly and beyond.

It all comes down to the National Rail Conditions of Carriage which states that lost tickets will not be replaced even if there is a receipt.
2109  Journey by Journey / London to Reading / Re: New timetable - how was it for you ? on: December 10, 2007, 15:25:14
Fine for me, 06:22 from Reading, arrived Paddington On Time Smiley
2110  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: FGW Season Tickets on: December 06, 2007, 17:54:09
It doesn't show travelcard prices which is unfortunate..

If you want to give me the details for season ticket and I'll get the price for you tomorrow.
2111  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Brown Annouces Anti - Terror Measures At FGW Stations on: December 01, 2007, 18:45:22
It would be possible for bikes to contain explosives.
And if racks are provided for bikes, these should be used.

The issue with this anti-terror measures at major stations is pointless. Just means terrorists will join a train at a smaller station.
2112  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Receipts for proof of travel and ticket barriers? on: November 27, 2007, 21:41:58
If you buy at a ticket office, ask for a receipt, it will clearly show the full details.
2113  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Advance ticket purchasing for Sunday 25th November on: November 21, 2007, 21:10:00
I don't see the issue here.

If you had booked them together you would have been able to see if 2 singles are cheaper.

If you book separately cheaper tickets cannot be guaranteed.

Having said that, I just did a check based on details you gave, and cheapest I could get was ^45.
2114  Journey by Journey / London to Reading / Re: 17.44 Paddington to Maidenhead - 20/11/07 on: November 21, 2007, 16:19:27
The driver would have been trying to fix the fault.

But he should have made an announcement to say what was happening.
2115  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Latest Edition of Customer Matters Newsletter on: November 19, 2007, 21:27:10
If it was the case of a "oh it's a First Group company" then why is so much already being invested in upgrades?
