19  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Should Pewsey have more services? on: May 18, 2008, 07:30:10 pm
We would like more services to & from Melksham.
Nice if the train went London to Westbury (stopping a Pewsey)  & then up to Chippenham, stopping at Trowbridge and Melksham. yes I know Melksham has a short platform.

You have more chance of Swindon blowing up.
Don't worry Swindon, you are perfectly safe.

You mean where the is door with a porthole?
yeh as that is the water store.
21  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Light refreshments in Coach A on: May 18, 2008, 07:08:48 pm
It is in the vestibule which is not the 'quite' zone.
22  Journey by Journey / Portsmouth to Cardiff / Re: Poster Timetables for Cardiff/Portsmouth route on: May 18, 2008, 07:00:01 pm
Surely everyone knows all the times off by heart, there is so little to remeber.
23  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: London-West Timetable on: May 18, 2008, 05:09:47 pm
walrusthefirst, I agree with you and the timetable I am producing has incoporated many Pewsey, Castle Cary and Westbury stops to serve a large range of destination.

Conner, I would like to see this timetable because I am doing one too. Maybe you could send it to me.
Yeh, I will do that, it is not finished yet but please take a look.

And Welcome to the Forum, do you like Adelantes?
24  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: High Speed Train Replacement on: May 18, 2008, 05:03:58 pm
Fine. How about lead paint?
And who exactly will allow you to paint trains with lead, it is not going to happen.
25  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: High Speed Train Replacement on: May 18, 2008, 03:12:54 pm
I find my journey better if I am in the quiet zone.

Well the news is out.
The local radio station is reporting that Newquay will have a deedicated unit from next summer with 7 trains a day.
28  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Buses Replacing Trains On Falmouth Line (15/05/2008) on: May 17, 2008, 08:28:12 pm
Wow 158 vice 143, wish that sort of swap happened more often.

I don't. I am quite happy with a Chapman seated 143 if it is instead of 15895(2?) with 3 coaches of Richmond seats.......
Well in Cornwall even a 158 without any seats would be a god send.
29  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Light refreshments in Coach A on: May 17, 2008, 08:26:34 pm
What is wrong with the buffet car?

quite often the 1623 from rdg to wos has no buffet!

WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) is Worcester, right? That's a bloody long way without a brew if the trolley has run out of stock (or water). You would think that service was a prime candidate for always having a set with a buffet. Bristol - London is much less nasty without a buffet, for example.
I was on a Penzance-London via Bristol HST (High Speed Train) without a buffet, the longest route a HST can do in normal service.
