I prefer the current situation- more seats when it is busy but I can still get a tabl if I want but I ususally choose airline.
I prefer to be safe in case I am in a train accident than have low seats which are bad for your back anyway.
If in FC‡ you have tons of space between seats and racks at the end and under seats there is a lot of overlooked space. (I remeber crawling under a Standard Seat easily).
I always see it on dim in Cornwall. Just ask if it isn't or just change it yourself.
You really can't compare FC and SC. Old FC seats were extremely comfortable, best on the railway. That is why I am probably going FC just to get one tommorow. Otherwise 158 seats are the best. Old SC seats were much less comfortable IMHO▸ , prefer new ones by far. New FC seats are stupid for FC, SC is more comfortable.

Lack of tables seats is a very good thing, they can't run a service with every seat a table in Standard it would be Full and Standing.
High Seat Backs are required by law! Why don't people realise that!!!! Nothing FGW▸ can do!
Luggage space is fine until people bring there whole house on holiday.
Lighting is fine on Dim, which it usually is (or easy to turn onto if it is not)
I can see perfectly out of the window.
Standard Seats are very comfortable IMHO▸ , more comfortable than Richmond seats.

142069 is currently at Reading Depot so maybe we are doing a swap lol We are supposedly giving Reading one 142 to cover Turbo refurbishment, don't think it will end up happening though.

if it's blank what guard is really going to accept it?
A regular who sees you getting on every day and knows your ticket was getting hard to read? But what about that ONE time you don't have a regular guard? Such as a trainee.... Your question was what guard is really going to accept a blank ticket? I answered it, you could get a replacement that day but a Guard who knows you might let you on in the morning.

All FGW▸ staff that check tickets were issued with "Zifa" stampers which display the date, headcode and an individual number for each stamper, most staff decide not to use them but they are supposed to!
This is because they are complete rubbish!! That and its far easier to use a 'punch' as you can do a group of tickets at once while with the 'Stamp' you have to do each individual ticket. Have also witnessed while travelling on a XC▸ service a lad wipe the stamp off with his jumper, no doubt so he could use the ticket again. Which is another problem with them, they wipe off and smudge, often leaving a purple smudge on other unused tickets in a customers ticket wallet leading to queries then when presented to the guard. So IMHO▸ they are a waste of time... Going to start asking Guards/tm's with them to stamp my Cornish Day Ranger, keep a record of where I went.

*Wider body meaning wider 2+3 seats
Meaning they will never be cleared for any work outside Thames Valley. And they don't couple with anything except themsleves. they can couple quite happily with other units so long as they have bsi autocouplers,i.e all our west fleet. AFAIK▸ , turbo's were made with non standard couplers to prevent them bein reused by other BR▸ sectors.
