526  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: Paington to London - a backward step under FGW? on: October 11, 2007, 19:36:18
Yes, they have taken a leaf out of the budget airlines book: cramped hard seats, if you are over four foot six then you will need physiotherapy at Paddington.

Odd, i prefer these seats to the old ones, as i'm 6ft.

so much more room than the old HST (High Speed Train)'s at least a good 3 inches of leg room. compared to none in the old hst's.

The new refurbs are a vast improvement

i have to say, but whats wrong with them anyway? The valley lines round here pretty much rely on them and 143's, and i'm yet to ever go on one that has had a problem/reliability issue. After using them daily for the past 2 years
529  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Re: Station Revamp Celebration on: October 08, 2007, 18:56:38
i've heard nothing but good things about it,

is it really that bad?

its quite amusing seeing the amount of failings that FGW (First Great Western) have from a business perspective
Are you doing them as a case study?  Wink

i'd rather do something productive/interesting with my time, and not do a case study on a lost cause Tongue

Hi, Shazz.   I take it that's Rich by name, or richly experiencing the sites and scenes of Cardiff?   If it's "financial" Rich, can you buy us a train  Grin

FGW (First Great Western) in being efficient shocker?

i shall have to pop down and have a look (i live opposite the millenium stadium)
