Did you witness incident? BTP appeals for information after altercation at Redruth railway station.

British Transport Police officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information following an incident at Redruth railway station

Investigating officer, PC Wayne Frost, said the incident took place at 10.15am on Easter Sunday, 8 April 2012.

"Enquiries are ongoing at this time in relation to a serious incident which happened at the station involving a male passenger who became involved in an altercation with rail staff," PC Frost said.

^The man believed to be responsible is described as being aged about 20, around 5ft 8in-5ft 10in, with a black moustache and beard. He was wearing a striped hooded top and jeans.

^I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident at the station, or who was on board the 0947hrs Penzance to London Paddington train and who witnessed anything prior to the incident at Redruth station.^

Anyone with information which they believe could assist the investigation is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls, please quote incident reference B2/WWA of 12/04/2012.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
