Guess what? Today is International Level Crossing Awareness Day 2018.

It's not something that Network Rail make a big fuss about, or even a little one. They do, however, have a page listing contacts etc. on the ILCAD web site, and sent someone to the conference.

ILCAD gets most publicity from SNCF, who invented it, and then persuaded IUC to adopt it. IUC run a conference - this year's is in Zagreb. Confusingly, it's called the ILCAD launch conference; I think some countries run an annual campaign that starts today.
