From the BBC: Cornwall house collapse: Body found
A body has been found at the site of a house which collapsed in a landslip in Cornwall, police have confirmed.
Rescue teams have been searching for a woman believed to be trapped inside the property in Looe.
The building, which is converted into flats, collapsed just before 06:00 GMT following torrential rain.
Devon and Cornwall Police earlier said Susan Norman, who lives in one of the flats in Sandplace Road, Looe, had been unaccounted for.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said a body had been recovered from the property at about 18:00, although formal identification had not yet taken place.
Dave King, from the service, said sniffer dogs and thermal-imaging equipment had been used.
Firefighters had entered the building after it was made "structurally sound" at about 13:15 to continue the search.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Ms Norman, aged in her 60s, who lived in one of three single-occupancy flats, had not been seen since 18:00 on Thursday. Her neighbours have been accounted for.
Cornwall Council said it was continuing to work with the emergency services and the Health and Safety Executive to carry out a thorough investigation into the cause of the landslip.
About 15 people from six other properties have been evacuated while engineers assess the stability of the buildings and the ground.
The A387 and B3253 were closed because of the house collapse and rail services to and from Looe were suspended.
Some of Ms Norman's neighbours said they had been shocked by the landslip but had previously raised concerns about subsidence in the area.
Peter Temlett said: "The drains have been blocked for years - they've not cleared them."
The council would not respond to the comments but said its wet weather operation had moved into the "recovery phase", with the Met Office saying the worst of the weather was moving away from Cornwall.

We quite often see delays "due to a passenger being taken ill". Unfortunately someone onboard an early morning Arriva Trains Wales service from Cardiff to Milton Haven was initially taken ill and then died today at Port Talbot Parkway. No more details but thoughts with the deceased's family and the crew and fellow passengers on the service.

A long, long time ago. . . they had blackboards. The top half was printed 'We are sorry that trains are running late due to' . . . and underneath, on the blackboard half, was written 'delay'. Took a photo, but can't find it .

Last night, 1701 HST▸ Oxford to London Paddington sat at P1 until 1725ish with 'delayed' on the CIS▸ . Only announcement (automated) was "this train is delayed due to a problem that is being investigated"

Unfortunately someone onboard an early morning Arriva Trains Wales service from Cardiff to Milton Haven was initially taken ill and then died today at Port Talbot Parkway. No more details but thoughts with the deceased's family and the crew and fellow passengers on the service.
Happened to a former friend and colleague, many years ago. When he didn't get home on time, this being before the internet, his wife rang Temple Meads to ask if there was a delay. She was told yes, because someone had died. As she hung up, she saw two BTP▸ officers walking up the path... I'm sure similar would not happen today. |

I don't think I've seen this one before. 08:00 London Paddington to Penzance due 14:16 This train will be started from Plymouth.
This train will no longer call at London Paddington, Reading, Didcot Parkway, Swindon, Chippenham, Bath Spa, Bristol Temple Meads, Taunton, Tiverton Parkway, Exeter St Davids, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and Totnes.
This is due to a derailed train. Not a good morning for London passengers to the far west: 08:57 London Paddington to Penzance due 14:33 This train will be terminated at Twyford.
This train will call additionally at Twyford.
This train will no longer call at Reading, Newbury, Westbury, Taunton, Tiverton Parkway, Exeter St Davids, Newton Abbot, Totnes, Plymouth, Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway, Par, St Austell, Truro, Redruth, Camborne, St Erth and Penzance.
This is due to a train fault. |

Not a good day, with a derailed train, a broken down train, and a trespass incident all causing current problems. Last night, we had signalling problems at Wokingham, and flooding at Temple Meads. All four reasons in one day. (Well, five actually).
Where is the derailed train?

According to staff I spoke to it was part of one power car inside Old Oak Common. Other trains trapped behind it too.

I am wondering if there has been a software upgrade for Journeycheck as some of the reasons have been slightly changed and made a bit more customer friendly. This is due to a fault with the signalling system. This is due to a broken down train earlier today. This is due to a passenger being taken ill on a train. This train will be cancelled.

Quite often on FGW▸ the last train of the night on a branch line will be held if the main line service is running late (within reason).
There are other places where it happens.
The Swindon to Gloucester/Cheltenham trains will usually be held at Swindon during the day if the services from London are no more than 8-10 minutes late.
