But that's illustrating that "Great Western Railway services are not currently expecting to be affected." Isn't it?

Still not a relevant train for the area in question.

I suspect the West Briton has bought an unlimited re-use license for this picture, judging by how often they use it!

And none of the 180s still wear that livery unless I'm very much mistaken.

Don't DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)) it, keep the guard (but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if the driver unlocked the doors on arrival at calling points).

Graham although I can't be certain of a 153, back when ATW (Arriva Trains Wales (former TOC (Train Operating Company))) or their predecessors ran a Cardiff to Paddington late night after FGW (First Great Western) withdrew the late Cardiff Paddington service, they used DMUs (Diesel Multiple Unit) normally 158s but on some occasions other units found their way on in place of 158. There was a report of a pacer one night.

I can't help feeling that this often used stock picture from the Bristol Evening Post of a GWR (Great Western Railway) train panel being cleaned may not be entirely the best choice to go with the headline.

Yebbut if ITV had actually used a photo of a class 139, then most readers would have thought that that WAS the bus.

I believe 153s did make it to Paddington occasionally on the old Wales & West services, working in multiple with 158s.

Pacers have certainly got as far as Reading (once, infamously, all the way from Pembroke Dock), and yes, there are rumours of one once having reached Paddington on the W&W (Wales and West - (before Wessex Trains!)) service in 1999, but who knows how true that is...
