Serious problems out of Waterloo after all signalling was lost in the Vauxhall/Clapham Junction area just before 8pm.

From SWT (South West Trains) Journeycheck

Quote
An earlier complete loss of signalling between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction has affected the entire network.

We will run a very small number of final services this evening out of London Waterloo.
We are also prioritising getting train services into stations and moving customers on trains to onwards destinations where possible .

Customers who seek alternative transport home should contact our customer services team via customerrelations@swtrains.co.uk with valid tickets and receipts for refunds to journeys not able to be completed this evening.

We expect to operate a normal timetable tomorrow (Thursday 7th March 2013). We will have several train services running tomorrow that will be shorter in carriage length than normal. Customers are advised to check the latest updates before they travel.

Customers unable to use train tickets for travel this evening (6th March 2013) will be able to use them for travel on South West Trains services tomorrow.

Alternative Transport
London Buses accepting South West Trains tickets.
Transport for London services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for South West Trains rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. London Buses accepting South West Trains tickets.
First Great Western and Southern Railway services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

Wish I hadn't stopped off for a pint at Raynes Park that night. I ended up taking 3 buses and a long walk to get home instead of my usual direct train. Sad

Incidentally I need to swot up on alternative routes to get home. Maybe I could have got a bus to a Southern station somewhere so I could get a train to Leatherhead then walk or take a cab home. I don't know. Unfortunately all that was offered was a (non running) SWT (South West Trains) train on the Traveline SouthEast journey planner unless I deselected "Train" from the methods of transport option hence the 3 buses.
