Been having a browse through the timetables put out by FGW (First Great Western) & Network rail for services when Reading is closed and it seems FGW have made some changes to the trans-Whiltshire services.

I have noticed that on weekdays the 06:15 Swindon - Wetsbury service doesnt seem to run instead being replaced by a 08:40 Swindon - Westbury service. This unit actually comes from Westbury and arrives into Swindon at 08:33.

I think there will be at least 1 member of this forum who will be pleased to see a service into Swindon at around 08:30 however sadly the evening departure from Swindon is still the same at 18:45

Saturday and Sunday services still appear to be the same as they are now however.

In that the two days that 08:40 Swindon to Westbury operates are Good Friday and Easter Monday they won't be much use for commuters but anyone fancying a trip to the south coast will find the journey to Weymouth 40 minutes quicker with a nine minute change at Westbury rather than the "dog leg" via Bath Spa and a half hour wait.

Mind you given that it is a holiday it will rain...  Grin
