Easy one this one I'm sure Wink

Boundary Zone Tickets... Are these only for Travelcards in London? Or can you use a Boundary Zone ticket as a split on a Single Z1256 Ticket?

Looking to buy the following for Saturday:

Westbury - Z1256 First Advance (Railcard) Single ^15.20
Boundary Zone 6 - Prittlewell ^9.95
Prittlewell - Southend Victoria ^2.45

No First Class Boundary Zone 6 Fare to SOV as the tickets appear to be set by c2c who do not offer First Class.

Thanks Smiley

Looks like you have two Zonal tickets and a third ticket.

1) Westbury -Z1256 1st Advance
2) Boundary Zone 6 - Prittlewell

3) Prittlewell - Southend Victoria.

Your WSB» (Westbury - next trains)-Z1256 plus BZ6-Prittlewell tickets will allow you to travel to Prittlewell non-stop. However, you will need to be on service that calls at Prittlewell before you travel onward to Southend Victoria.

Would the Z1256 ticket not actually be a Zone U1256 ticket, meaning it is valid to an Underground or DLR (Docklands Light Railway) destination in Zone 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 rather than National Rail?

Thanks BNM.

Brucey that confuses me even more?!!! I thought Zone U1256 was valid in the Travelcard Zone on National Rail and London Underground services? I know it's not for Buses.

Anyway, I ended up Purchasing a First Advance for Westbury - Stratford London at ^13.85 and Stratford London - Southend Victoria at ^13.00

Total: ^26.85 So slightly cheaper Smiley

Thanks for the reminder on the Split Ticket rules. Pretty much every SOV train calls at Prittlewell except on Sundays for some bizarre reason, when I think only a handful do if any!

But on Sundays the SOV services also call at Harold Wood, Gidea Park and Romford. It can sometimes be quicker to change at Shenfield for a London Liverpool Street Fast service!

I thought Travelcards were valid on all surface transport in London except Ferries where I believe you can get a discount. Latest issue from Taplow is & London zones 1-6

This was the ticket I was going to purchase when I asked the original question: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=WSB» (Westbury - next trains)&dest=0786&rlc=DIS&expert=on&flow=1&multi=3&fare=4&rte=442&ldn=0&tkt=F1A

Which is an addon to use the Underground in Zones 1,2,3,4,5 & 6. I am assuming it covers National Rail in the respective Zones? I know that you can't use this ticket on London Buses.

This is what I bought in the end: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=WSB&dest=SRA» (Strategic Rail Authority - about)&rlc=DIS&expert=on&flow=0&multi=0&fare=4&rte=444&ldn=1&tkt=F1A

I didn't purchase a Travelcard as I was returning the same day. For which I purchased this return ticket: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=SOV&dest=FRO» (Frome - next trains)&rlc=DIS&expert=on&flow=0&multi=1&fare=7&rte=473&ldn=1&tkt=DDS

Hope that clears up my poor explanation skills lol! Wink Cheesy Smiley

I cannot actually find anywhere that defines what a Zone Uxxx fare actually means!

"The Manual" only refers to these fares on a page entitled "Through fares to London Underground/DLR (Docklands Light Railway) stations".  Or at least it did last time I enquired.
