This was spotted last night and is related to a server problem early yesterday morning.

It is being looked at but may take until the weekend to fix.  As far as we are aware everything else is fine, it is just the sending of email notifications - which also includes personal messages incidentally.

As it affects all users, I am moving this topic to Help & Assistance so everyone is aware.

Thanks, Bob ... I'm replying (in part) to test notification here as I've just turned it on for myself for this topic.  But it may not be until the weekend that I get a chance to sort it.   New member emails ARE going out.

The other night was actually a pretty major update - new power supply, new cpu, extra memory, probably a different rack.  Just IP addresses and disc drive remained the same, and even there (the IP address) we had to fiddle.  New internal passwords too - it could be that there's one of those encoded somewhere that needs to be updated.

Testing ...

And I have just received the notification ...!

Problem only applies to some members, then.  I have identified it as being down to our server having two IP addresses, and the default one for the mail system having been changed in the restart the other night.   Something for me to look at when I have a clear head (and I'm not in the middle of a PHP class  Wink )

Yep ... problem was caused by subtle changes on the new system's network setup and was only noticeable to a small proportion of a small proportion of members - which is why it didn't show up in testing.   I'm fairly sure it's fixed now - the solution was logical, and the backlog queue has struck and been sent through - and it doesn't appear to have broken anything else  Wink
