All, I must stress this is not a complaint but I am looking for advice on how I can sort thus out for future passengers

Yesterday morning I bought a weekly ticket from Thatcham to Oxford from a TM(resolve) on board the 547 service to Reading. I didn't buy one from the TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) because as far as I know the TVM doesn't give you the plus-bus option.

Fast forward to this morning at Oxford station where I boarded a stagecoach service where I gad used plus-bus before

At first the driver was reluctant to accept the ticket because it didn't have. the "bus" wording in the centre of the ticket. I must stress he was very helpful and showed me the documentation from stagecoach that showed what tickets are valid. The photographic examples he showed me did show (struggling for words here) rail tickets with the plus bus option in a different location from the one I had

Anyway he let me board. Whilst on the journey I found a ticket from a previous week which had been issued by the Thatcham ticket office and sure enough the printing is different in that the bus option is at the centre of the ticket

So I guess my first question is this: is  the layout for an avantix ticket different from one issued at a ticket office given that both tickets are for the same service? If the answer is "no" has there been a change very recently?

Thanks

Plus bus should be sold as 2 separate tickets. I know that on advantix you can issue from say PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains)-Oxford plusbus all on one ticket.
It should be issued as PAD-OXF» (Oxford - next trains) OXF-Plusbus.

I know that the font is slightly different on Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains), however did not know it was massively different.

Is it possible for you to scan and upload an image of your Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains) printed PlusBus ticket?

All the ones I've ever had have the same layout as those issued by a ticket office or online.

I have attached the photo of the ticket (deliberately cropped to removed my travel card ID)

On the examples the bus driver showed me (from his manual) they had the "bus" option was in the centre rather than to the right

I wonder if the ticket would have printed differently if the origin and destination were the other way round?

On the day version of PlusBus you have "PLUSBUS DAY" clearly printed across the top orange band of the ticket. This of course isn't possible with a Season as the top band has to include the photocard number.

Weekly plusbus tickets wont be printed the same way as day tickets obviously.

Plus its printed the wrong way around.

Should be Oxford - Oxford+Bus. Although that doesn't make much difference on price.

Thanks all

It was only on the one journey I had an issue where the driver needed to refer to his manual and it didn't match.

He has taken a picture so he can refer it back to stagecoach
