From FOSBR (Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways) :

PRESS RELEASE 17 January 2008

Rail supporters will be singing in the forecourt of Bristol Temple Meads Station on Saturday 19 January from 11 ^ 12 noon.

Singing provides an opportunity to:-
^ publicise the vast rail network in the Bristol travel to work area,
^ distribute The Future of Rail in Bristol cards
^ promote the improved Temple Meads to Avonmouth service from Monday 17 May
^ support the Fare Strike on Monday 28 January
^ collect money for More Trains Less Strain
 
The singers will take the 10.03 from Severn Beach and return on the 12.13 from Temple Meads
 
Note for the media

Neither Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways (FOSBR) nor Portishead Railway Group are involved in this event.

I wouldnt dare comment on the the quality (or otherwise) of FOSBR singing......

It wasnt an official FOSBR event, hence their disclaimer.

A local shop recently loudly proclaimed that it would be holding a "Book Singing Event", which I must confess I was really rather looking forward to.

Turned out when I enquired further that what they'd actually meant to publicise was a "Book Signing".

Oh, well. And there I was thinking what a novel idea it would have been.
