From "Passenger Voice" Electronic newsletter, received at 17:00 yesterday evening
Exciting times ahead for Passenger Focus as we widen our remit and become Transport Focus.
The Infrastructure Bill received Royal Assent and entered the statute books earlier this month. While we continue representing the interests of passengers, we will now also work for users of the Strategic Road Network ^ including motorists, freight and business users, as well as those who walk or cycle on the network.
We^ll start using our new name on 30 March when we also publish our first road user research, our new road user newsletter, launch our rebuilt website and our first Transport Focus work plan for 2015-16.
You can find out more about the new role here and if you would like to receive Road User Voice please email
communications@passengerfocus.org.uk with the word Subscribe in the subject line.
As well as a new name, we also welcome a new chair. Jeff Halliwell took over from Colin Foxall at the start of February, and he has already chaired his first Board meeting.
He was pleased to be able to meet many stakeholders at our event on 15 January and has plans to meet many more over the coming months.
