Due to a broken down train between Reading and Basingstoke the Basingstoke bound line is blocked.
 Impact:
Train services running to and from these stations will be suspended between Reading and Basingstoke. Disruption is expected until 10:00 02/06.

It appears the 23:31 Garston to Southampton service has failed in the Bramley area

Is it just me or do there seem to be a lot more passenger delays caused by freight failures these days?

I don't think there's been much difference over the years to be honest.  The general better reliability of the modern freight locomotives being offset by the fact there's more freight trains running.  It again highlights that having a single locomotive providing the power source means that it's game over if there's a serious problem with the engine.
