They are all nicknames for the Class 153 unit. |

Yes indeed. Now something "odd". I have come across all these names for the 153, yet I can't off hand think of anything similar for the 158 ... of which there are plenty more examples around, and which (being a 2 or 3 coach trains) carry far more passengers. Any idea why there would be this lack of nicknames for the 158?

According to http://harmsy.freeuk.com/ukrailwayfaq/nicknames.html the 158 is known as "Express", "Formica Express", "Garden Shed", "Scud" - same as 153! and "Flying Coffin". Also gives me "Super Bubble", "Runaway Carriage" and "Minicab" for the 153 - that's in addition to some of the list I started with! |
