Cornish train spotters have been frothing at the rims today with a rarely seen DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) making a visit. A pair of 143s escaped Devon for a visit to Cornwall, not once but twice today!

143612/143618 worked 2P86 1141 Penzance to Plymouth, having worked down in place of the early morning Bristol Parkway departure from Exeter. They then came back for another go as 2C43 1349 Plymouth to Penzance and 2E88 1644 Penzance to Exeter.

Fair enough: Cornish train enthusiasts don't often get to see such heritage stock in the Duchy.  Tongue Roll Eyes Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

I think retiring them to the Cornish branches is a great idea! It is, after all,  where buses go to die Wink

GWR (Great Western Railway) realised their sister bus company have retired most of our old buses now and decided to treat the bus enthusiasts? Grin
Unfortunately First Kernow has lost much of its old variety in the last 3 months and very few proper old buses remain.  Cry

They wouldn't go quietly to those branch lines though. Screeching and squealing.

That's partly why Pacers were removed from those lines back in the late 1980s.
