From the
Gloucester Citizen:
Gloucester operators Great Western Railway and Arriva Trains Wales worst for delays survey finds
The two train operators serving Gloucester are thought to be the most likely to have delays in the country.
Arriva Train Wales and First Great Western, now called Great Western Railway, both languish at the bottom of the table for the number of passengers experiencing delays on their trains.
The survey conducted by consumer website Which? showed 31 per cent of those surveyed about Arriva Trains Wales services had experienced delays.
And 30 per cent thought the same of Great Western Railway.
It comes after the Gloucester Citizen revealed the poor number of routes directly from Gloucester to neighbouring cities of Birmingham and Bristol.
Gloucester MP▸ Richard Graham has launched a campaign to improve the number of routes, saying there is 'virtually no commuter service' for Gloucester.
But in addition to the fact not enough trains are running from Gloucester and that they are more prone to delays, customers are not happy with the standard of the services either from the two firms.
Every train company in the UK▸ was rated by thousands of passengers on the availability of seating, cleanliness of toilets, condition of the train, value for money, reliability and punctuality.
Out of the 22 surveyed GWR▸ came 16th and Arriva Trains Wales came 18th, scoring only 50 per cent and 49 per cent respectively.
