Was looking to book onto today's 1348 service from Kings Cross to Thirsk, and checked their website to see if they offered weekend first upgrades. Nothing mentioned I could see, and I even tried their search box...threw nothing.

It now appears they do - ^15 as far as you wish to travel, but not on Advances. I'm putting in a refund request tomorrow for the difference between an off-peak 1st and the cost of an upgraded (super) off-peak single and the off-peak 1st that I bought.

Very glad I chose to go 1st though. There were no reservations in STD .... It's full & standing back there, so Arriva are getting somethings right!

But not advertising the weekend first upgrade when you do offer it is sharp practice in my book!

Update: they don't offer a super off-peak STD, so it would be the ^62.10 off-peak upgraded.

Thus ^12 out of pocket.

Oh, their wifi is broken too, so I'm on my trusty 3 dongle

With apologies for trivialising your comments, I trust you mean GRAND Central. It would be brilliant if GREAT Central could operate from Kings Cross to Thirsk.

Found it easily with Google. Also listed in the Site Map. On both the desktop and mobile websites.
