I have a 10 a.m. flight on Saturday - surely I can make that (from Chippenham?) with an early start?   Terminal 4, need to allow 2 hours to check in.   Looks to me like I need to go up the night before, or take a taxi!

0555 to Padd arr 0721. As you don't need precisely 2 hours to check in, surely the first HEX & connection after 0721 would be ok?

Or 05:55 CPM» (Chippenham - next trains) to RDG(resolve) then RailAir bus at 06:45. Tight connection though and I don't think the bus goes to T4 so you'd need time to transfer within LHR.

Can you do an online check-in? That will give you another hour to play with...

Can you delay the flight 10 years until WRaTH is built?

Using this morning as a reference, I'd avoid any long distance bus or car journeys to Heathrow.

travel up the day before and get a hotel nearby, then get train/local bus or taxi as needed.

Wish I could ... working the previous evening until final checkin.  I considered playing a high value card to get cover, but it's not a "have to" go up the evening before - just an "it would be nice".  And I'm not going to risk close connections for an intercontinental journey, nor something I've got to do lots of luggage-dragging.

Tempting.  Last time I did this run was 10 years ago, so next time ... the WRaTH will be due to open the following week knowing my luck.

see if you can get a deal at the T4 Hilton.  It has a walkway to the terminal so you will not be relying on any transport in the morning.

I've managed to get some cheap rates there in the past.  I get the impression that it sees less business than it did when T4 was BA» (British Airways - about)#s hub.
