20:28 Swansea to Chippenham due 23:05
This train will call additionally at Bath Spa.
This is due to a fault on this train.

Why on earth an extra stop at Bath Spa due to a fault on the train?   I have a fertile imagination but I'm struggling here!

Could be they need to turn the train for some reason and are running via Bath and into BPW» (Bristol Parkway - next trains) from the south and decided to drop in an extra stop at Bath?

Hardly I should think as the amendment was posted on Journey Check during the afternoon.

This does seem odd. Would it have connected with a late coach at Chippenham for Swindon/Reading? The last train/bus did seem earlier than normal last night.

This service would've run to Chippenham and terminated due to the works around Swindon, I believe.

The man/woman who can fix the train is waiting at Bath Spa and needs to board?

But the route doesn't make sense.

Yesterday evening I was perplexed by the reasons given for 2 trains not being started from their official originating station . If my memory serves me well one was a Cardiff- Portsmouth(and this one I may have got wrong) because "the electricity has been turned off" and the other, starting from Worcester, was a  Great Malvern to Bristol service which suffered from "congestion". I hope it has recovered!

I suspect, sometimes, it may be better not to put a reason if the drop down boxes don't have anything which adequately describes the reason, ie what electricity!! and congestion caused by what. For the disgruntled passenger trite and inadequate comments only fuel the flames.

Cardiff to Portsmouth yesterday were impacted by a ww2 bomb found at Newport, closing down the line in the afternoon.

Yes, but where does "turning the electricity" off come into it?

Do you mean the 1801 from Bristol Parkway to Portsmouth? It started at Temple Meads due to crew displacement as a result of earlier disruption at Southampton Central that resulted in 3rd rail being switched off. Doesn't affect us directly, but it does when the other operators can't move their trains Smiley
