Probably one for II again, but could anyone tell me what train (HST (High Speed Train) or Turbo) and how many carriages the following two services are/have:

0630 from Goring
0644 from Goring

I believe the first one maybe 1P06 0550 Oxford to London Paddington (pathed as a turbo), and the second one 1P08 0632 Didcot Parkway to London Paddington (pathed as a HST) according to realtime trains, but I just wanted to double check and see if anyone knew the number of carriages ?

Thanks in advance!

PS. Is there anyway joe public can find the type and number of carriages themselves to save me asking every time ?

1P06 is a 6-car Turbo (rear three unlocked at Didcot), and 1P08 is indeed a HST (High Speed Train).

The 0644 (1P08) from Goring is indeed a most interesting train. It is an HST (High Speed Train) - Eight coaches, Standard Class only and no reservations. I queried this when GWR (Great Western Railway) put out the draft May timetable.

So at Goring, you should have your choice of First Class seats that haven't yet been taken by those at Cholsey and have a comfortable ride into the capital!

Thanks for that Oxonhutch! I only go as far as Maidenhead and got the earlier Turbo today, but that is definitely one to remember should I need to get to Heathrow in the future (I go to Paddington and get HEX to the airport, can't be bothered with hanging around at grim H&H for HC!).

I see that someone from GW (Great Western) Towers must have read my post! The details I gave when I posted above were correct at the time according to the timetable and Realtimetrains fed from TRUST (Train Running System TOPS).

Go on leave for a week and I see that 1P08 is now First and Standard class HST (High Speed Train) with reservations available on RTT» (Real Time Trains - website). JohnR from Maidenhead will be pleased!

On line timetable amended too, but doesn't mention reservations: Hidden service for those in the know? Cholsey passengers will need to move down the bus now.  Sad
