A concrete block on the line near Pershore caused a lot of chaos on Monday evening.

The 19:44 from Great Malvern to Paddington eventually gave up at Oxford at 23:13, some 109 minutes late.

The 20:59 from Foregate St to Paddington also gave up at Oxford at 23:41, some 74 late.

The 20:22 from Paddington to Great Malvern gave up at Shrub Hill at 23:32, 52 late.

The 19:22 from Paddington to Hereford had the worst time of it. It got to Oxford, 34 late, and then reversed so as to go round by way of Swindon and Cheltenham.
Something else must have happened to it, because it eventually arrived at Shrub Hill at 00:06, some 139 minutes late.

All of this means that stock is out of place this morning (Tuesday), so the first Hereford - Paddington is starting from Worcester.

How on earth do vandals move a concrete block?.....

As the Hereford HSTs▸ (High Speed Train) overnight at St Philips Marsh, I doubt they were out of place, just had insufficient time to be serviced before needing to leave at sparrow-fart o'clock for HFD» (Hereford - next trains). So they used one of the Worcester-stabled sets....

How big/dense was the concrete block though?

2 people could comfortably lift 50+ kg between them (say, a large 'council grade' paving slab), which I would say is more than sufficient to cause a good bit of disruption and possibly damage.

I pictured a breeze block in my head.  I don't think we are talking anti-tank cubes.
