I managed to do a Temple Meads tour last year and very interesting it was too. They are always popular and sell out quickly. There are lots of other venues open over that weekend which don't need to be booked in advance.

I am working that day anyway. Good to see it's a popular draw though as it means there might be one next year, unless a start has been made on the much spoken of improvments to TM(resolve).

Bristol Open Doors venues were announced yesterday (24th July), all 101 of them.

Bristol Temple Meads tours were snapped up within minutes apparently.

After goodness knows how many years of trying; ten, is it? I have finally managed to secure tickets for the Temple Meads tour. I will let you know how it goes in September!

I actually managed to get onto the page in time to get tickets, but then realised that I wasn't actually available for any of the times Sad.

Missed out again this year, with so much interest surely whatever organisation shows the punters around the unseen parts of Temple Meads station could organise PAID FOR tours and donate the proceeds after expenses to maybe a railway/local charity.

With consistently huge demand for Temple Meads outstripping supply, I would be happy to pay a reasonable tour entrance charge if it meant more tours could be provided each year. Or perhaps a number of free tours as is now and some extra paid for ones. The demand is clearly there. As to what constitutes a reasonable tour charge is another matter but I wouldn't be expecting a champagne reception. Then again!!!! ☺
