Hi

I notice there has not been much said about the Great Western Railway (First Great Western): Dan Okey/Matthew Barnes to report to the Exeter Rail Project Working Party

Propose changes to the Exeter Rail Depot plans

Thank you Guy...very interesting.
There are two slides headed Proposed Layout showing differing arrangements of the station/depot area - can anyone explain this?

They are essentially the same proposal, slide 1 is a "scorched earth" layout, whereby all existing infrastructure has been airbrushed out first whilst the second slide shows it superimposed over the top.
There are slight nuanced differences in the proposed building designs between the 2 (slide 2 looks like it was done on SketchUp, and they've felt it necessary to include platform refurbishment), but they are the same.

Platform extensions, eh? Which stations need em? St James Park?

What's this mobile ticketing malarkey Torbay Council has coughed up for? Their, uh, track record in transport leaves me cynical! (hello Brixham express...)

So many questions Cheesy

Anything that cannot currently accommodate at least a 4 car 150, which in practice means:
St James Park
Lympstone Commando
Eggesford
Portsmouth Arms

Plus if the 158s come to the Tarka (Line from Barnstaple to Exeter) Line add:
Copplestone
Morchard Road
Lapford

And with regard to mobile ticketing - not a foggiest, as m-ticketing has been available for ages, though maybe not for local journeys.

I noticed last week that some new gubbins have been added to the ticket barriers on New North Road at Exeter Cebtraln- possibly smart card readers, but don't look like the ones in London or Manchester.
