Shame, at the very least I would have thought it would make a good pub or restaurant with the remains of the canopy. 

Always though that a massive trick was missed when the bay was redeveloped not to build a decent heavy rail station and rejig the (electrified) Valley lines to use it, a bit like Milan Cardorna. Would have made the whole area much, much more attractive as a business location, and transformed the city. Hey ho.

If it wasn't so near the busy road I would agree

It has always struck me that the Cardiff Bay shuttle would be a prime candidate for conversion to a tram.  There is plenty of space at the Bay end of the line to take the route further and also maybe options around Callaghan Square to run to Central as an alternative to Queen Street.

Along with the Coryton line, I agree. The rest of the ValleyLines network though I think should probably remain heavy rail, which raises the problem of how you get the tram from Heath to central Cardiff. Street running seems the obvious solution, which would also give a direct link between the Cardiff Bay and Central station, but it is possibly quite a long way for a fledgeing tram scheme.

Don't DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)) it, keep the guard (but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea if the driver unlocked the doors on arrival at calling points).
