And I bet their website was the location of this information?

All information about the works has stopped.

I can only recommend that the OP (Original Poster / topic starter) has a try with that new fangled thing called 'Google' rather than going on an uninformed rant. Use the search term 'Hayes and Harlington station redevelopment', the first result reveals quite a lot of information.

An update was issued on 16th August and described the work which has been in progress during September and October - it has mostly been ground work (e.g. excavating & installing ducting), hence why the OP hasn't seen the glass box station magically pop up. There's also an option to sign up for email updates and some contact details if you have any questions.

Amazing what one can find if one puts a little effort into a task. It's too easy to get all shouty with capitals on an internet forum  Roll Eyes

And guess what? There was nothing in the Works descriptions about installing / reinstalling better signage and systems for informing intending passengers which platforms their trains might be arriving at. Nor how to purchase tickets when cards do not work in the machines. Nor when staff might be on duty. Nor when proper undercover waiting areas will be provided. Etc. There is nothing in the Works orders mentioning anything to do with services to actual passengers. CJB

Why would you look there for what service the customer can expect under Crossrail?....

Spend some time browsing the Crossrail website, and as Crossrail will be a TfL» (Transport for London - about) contract, what other likewise contract TfL have offered for London Overground.

Why should we spoonfeed the info you are looking for? Invest some of your own time nmaybe?

London Overground for example has staffed stations from first to last train - Crossrail willbe no different

Apparently "Great Western will be installing a shroud around the screen opposite the booking office, possibly this week. It is to be hoped that this will make the information easier to read but that remains to be seen." 

Apparently "Great Western are only too aware of the confusion on Sunday over which platform the London-bound trains were departing from. Apparently the difficulty was linked to the automated systems which should be triggered by the trains when they are further down the line. This could take time to resolve and Great Western are looking into what can be done to manage the situation in the meantime. This is, of course, long overdue but I suppose there is some progress in the fact that they have admitted that there is a problem."

GWR (Great Western Railway) are typically (but not always) aware of issue; whether they can prevent the same problem again isn't always practical for them - either on price or because it's in someone else's control.

Rail industry professionals spend all their days looking after this sort of stuff and information flow.  I'm minded of another thread where I was asking about speed limits on a different part of the network that I didn't / couldn't find the answer for - and I've been around for few years.  Thank you to the people there who answered politely and didn't slag me off for missing page 428 of the sectional appendix!

Another objector here to OP (Original Poster / topic starter)'s general tone.

Stupidly easy information to find so I've no idea what ranting on here will honestly achieve - everyone here is providing assistance for free so having a silly toys-out-of-pram moment isn't going to win many friends.

CJB666 isn't posting from the position of a 'non expert newbie', he's been a member here since 2009, but nearly all his 35 posts have been of the same nature, an initial outburst first, then being corrected by other members over a couple of pages of ensuing replies, and then he disappears in silence for another few months.
