Yesterday I travelled from Worcester via Reading to Dorking. From Worcester to Reading, the unit was refurbished (or re-liveried) unit 166205  and from Reading to Dorking Deepdene, 166215, still in the old blue colours. As I walked through 166205 I was shocked at the number of the grey coloured seats that had large stains and spillages on them; the combination of the colour and material is not a good choice compared to the blue seats which looked in far better condition.

Yes, Steve, that unit is in a right mess.  A shade of grey that was far too light was used (and also used on the HST (High Speed Train) set that was fitted out internally).  Lessons were learnt since they were both done, and a much darker shade of grey has been used for the Class 387s.  The stains will still be there, just hidden more!

Didn't they also improve the "stain resistant" coating?
