Is it just my impression over the last few weeks or have there been many more short formed trains on the Bristol/Frome/Weymouth and Bristol/Salisbury routes? Trains seem to be much more crowded in the late afternoon from BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) recently, sometimes going to Yate also.

GWR (Great Western Railway) Journey Check says "More trains needing repairs than usual".   Seems to be the norm now rather than saying "more than usual".

I understand there's a heavier schedule of major overhauls of 150/2 units going on at present, reducing the available fleet.  Not sure I would call a major overhaul a "repair", but having one less train on the fleet than normal will tend to mean that any unscheduled failures have more of an effect than normal.

We have noticed that TransWilts services are getting much more crowded in the late afternoon ...

There are 2 x 150/2s away at Wolverton Works at a time undergoing PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) Mods

It's also been noticeable that there have been similar problems on the local trains between Nailsea & Backwell (NLS) and Bristol Temple Meads (BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains)) recently.

I continue to receive 'GWR (Great Western Railway) Alert' text messages on my mobile phone (dating back to the days when I used to commute, morning and evening), and I note that there were texts about "more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time" today, and on 12 May, 9 May, 2 May, 28 April, 26 April, 20 April, 11 April, 4 April, 3 April, 30 March (two trains), 28 March, 27 March, 24 March, 20 March, 15 March (two trains), 10 March, 8 March, 1 March ... and so on.

I've noticed this week that the two morning Bristol-Weymouth services have been down from the planned 4 coaches down to 2. With it still being the school holidays, I would imagine it's been quite cosy on board  Sad

Be great to finally get the full allocation of Turbos down this way next year which should hopefully see less short formed services next summer.
