This has just been released covering NR» (Network Rail - home page) output 2018/19. The Wessex area p40 followed by Western

The upgrade map for 2018 that was displayed at the recent GWR (Great Western Railway) Community Conference has been emailed to me, and dates for the works in the above report are as follows -

Slough - Track Renewals: Hayes - Maidenhead, All Lines blocked (ALB, a new one on me); Services to Divert
When: May 5-7 2018m (3 Days)
 
Oxford - Track remodelling: lines closed Didcot-Oxford-Banbury/Hanborough
When: July 21 - August 12 2018 (16 Days)

Worcester - Battenhall Bridge Works: Cheltenham/Evesham - Foregate Street: Lines Closed
When: May 26-30 2018 (5 Days)

Patchway - Track Lowering: Bristol Parkway - Filton AW - ST Junction: Services via Gloucester
When: June 11 - July 1 2018 (21 Days)

Filton Bank: Remodelling & Track Renewal: Temple Meads - Filton AW - Severn Beach: No Services
When: October 27 - November 18 2018 (23 Days)

BASRE (Bristol Area Signalling Renewal and Enhancement) Resignalling: Temple Meads - Bath - Yatton - Filton AW - Severn Beach: No services; Access to St Philips Mash Depot blocked
When: March 30 - April 3 (5 Days)

Earlswood (Redhill) - Track Renewal: Gatwick - Redhill: Services terminate/start Redhill
When: February 24 - March 11 2018 (16 days)

Portsmouth (Burnaby Road Bridge) - Bridge Replacement: Portsmouth & Southsea - Portsmouth Harbour: No service, terminate @ P & Southsea.
When: February 12 - 16 2018 midweek (5 days)

Exeter (Cowley Bridge) - Flood Alleviation: Tiverton/Barnstaple - EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains): Services via Honiton (from Barnstaple, really?!)
When: June 12 - 14 2018 midweek ( 3 days)

Cornwall (Scorrier) - Mine Capping & Track Renewal: Truro westwards: no services
When: March 2018 (TBC) (4 days planned)

....and on the Network Map on Page 25 there are several lines missing around the Westbury area including the line through Melksham..... Roll Eyes Tongue

Perhaps that's the plan for 2019? 

Would certainly solve the problem of overcrowding on the 17:36 Tongue
