In this 2015 briefing note on the GWR (Great Western Railway) franchise (http://www.avocetline.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/October-2015-GWR-Franchise-Update-MK3.pdf). Unless I am reading it incorrectly, I think it says that there was due to be a new direct service introduced in May 2017 from Paddington to Cheltenham Spa - the 16:42 (see page 6).

I can't find any trace of this new service. Does anybody here know when/if it is due to come to fruition?

Everything in GWR (Great Western Railway) land is a little behind, I guess it will be introduced during next year sometime.
