On many occasions, a timetabled service has failed for one reason or other and has been replaced further down the line with another set running in the same path, but under a different headcode. The resulting automated announcement creating much confusion and questions of the platform staff......
e.g...
"We regret to announce that the 12:04 service to Plymouth has been cancelled....
Passengers for Totnes and Plymouth, your next available service is the 12:04 service to Plymouth"
How many times have you looked at the
CIS▸ on the platform, to see that your service has been cancelled; tried to find the next available service and missed the fact that your train is running after all?
