I took a day trip to Weymouth yesterday. Shed a tear or three because Dad can't be with me this year, and took a few pictures in his honour.  They say that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"; maybe, but I can't reach or imitate his standard.  Yet Weymouth offers so much that it helps even the amateur photographer - may I share some pictures which remind me?  Thank you.

Weymouth from Melksham. £17.50 return by train on Sundays, change at Westbury. 09:20 from Melksham, 11:54 into Weymouth. Return at 16:10 or 17:56, to Melksham at 18:54 or 19:57. Subject to pre-planned engineering works and train crew availability.  Railcard and groupsave discounts apply. Children 5 - 15 half fare. Prices and train times may vary from January 2018.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Weymouth never ceases to amaze me ... I could go again next Sunday (weather and trains permitting) and find a further 16 things worth photographing;  leg / back getting better, so wouldn't be sticking quite so central
