Train operator South Western Railway (SWR» (South Western Railway - about)) announced on Wednesday (September 27) it is to give away thousands of goodies during National Customer Service Week.

Commuters can benefit from 30,000 breakfasts, 90,000 coffee vouchers and 100,000 packets of jelly beans during their morning commute from Thursday (September 28).

Breakfast boxes will be available on seven of SWR's routes while coffee vouchers and jelly beans are available at selected train stations.

I think even broadgage would struggle to 'benefit from 30,000 breakfasts' during a morning ...  Shocked Roll Eyes Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

One would do, or possibly two if unduly portion controlled.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.
