Penzance - St Erth delays caused by sea flooding. Trains running at reduced speed and delayed as a result.

St Austel to Truro a tree has come down blocking the Westbound line towards Truro. Eastbound line still running apparently.

Should hoepfully be resolved by 6pm tonight.

Stay safe out there.

Storm 'Brian'  forecast for the South West this Saturday, according to local news.

So could well be very much the same,  So decided to cancel all travel this weekend.

Storm 'Brian'

Shouldn't be a storm of biblical proportions. He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

The storm has yet to be named....
Unless the Met office issue an amber warning it won't be. Sadly I doubt that will stop certain elements of the media from doing so which devalues naming storms that could have a major impact.  Angry Cry wolf enough times every time we have a bit of wind and rain, i.e typical Autumn weather, the public won't pay attention.

I blinked the other day ... and must have missed Ophelia ...

We weren't in the centre of the cone, but never the less I was expecting it to be a bit windier than it was.  "When I were young, this sort of weather were what happened without comment"

However if you look at the news for some other parts of the Uk & Ireland you will find that it was a bit more than averagely windy.

Certain letters aren't used, and a yellow alert can come feom a named storm, not just amber & red. Both in the article linked to above

It hit over night here. Blowing a gale, with desert sand. Both our cars were completely covered in sand after the event. I gather a number died in Ireland
